Fiat Farm, south of Russell, Ontario, is hosting a new event this June, in partnership with Goūtart Altruism, that will include an art exhibition and sale.
Fiat Farm uses permaculture, a style of small-holding farming that incorporates the natural environment. Owners Meghann and Nick Baker encourage community farming, concerts, events and safe welcoming community spaces as part of their operation.
The Honouring Arts Festival to be held there will showcase arts and crafts done by some of the people helped by Goūtart Altruism. That organization is a non-profit started by Melany Bahl and her family after she left the military for medical reasons. Unable to be physically active anymore she worried about marginalized people, including former military, who could not use physical activity as a form of therapy, so she started Goūtart with a focus on using art as therapy.
